Alberta’s energy industry is no longer in a downturn, but rather in transition. What does that mean for job seekers? Research conducted by PetroLMI in partnership with Calgary Economic Development and Alberta’s Ministry of Labour indicates that many of the workers previously employed in the oil and gas industry will also need to transition to other sectors.
You are invited to preview the career information developed to support workers considering work in the Renewable Energy (solar, wind and geothermal) and Clean Tech sectors. The workshop has been designed to share:
A profile of the industry including the supply chain, lifecycle and key players
Activity outlook and indicators of growth that are likely to drive employment demand
“Foot in the door” skills, qualifications and experience requirements
We will be looking for attendees to provide feedback on career information shared and preferred methods for access it. We can accommodate a maximum of 30 people.
We will also share key learnings about opportunities and barriers for unemployed/underemployed oil and gas workers to transition into Alberta’s High Tech, Petrochemical, Supply Chain and Agriculture industries.
