JACKIE RAFTER, MBA - founder, President & ceo

Jackie is a natural catalyst, entrepreneur and business builder with two decades of experience in the professional services industry, and a knack for “making things happen”. Having worked in five countries, she built two successful executive search firms, founded Canada’s first publicly traded company with an all-female Board of Directors, Roxi Capital (now trading as Plastifab Corp. - PFB.TSX) and was a founder of Anorak Capital (now trading as Total Energy Services TOT.TSX).
Jackie’s penchant for reinvention and heart-based leadership skills led to the creation of Higher Landing and the formation of “career transformation” which sets a new standard for helping people “land higher” in their career. She has achieved results by casting aside tradition-bound thinking, enabling people to tap in to their potential while guiding them to reinvent, brand and package themselves to secure the best possible opportunities.
Jackie holds dual degrees from the University of Calgary with an MBA and Bachelor of Education (French) and is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. She is a champion of helping people live healthy and authentic lives and enjoys travel and running long distance.
Erin Wilkins, Career Transformation Strategist & Government Program Manager
Erin has always had a passion for training and advising professionals. One of her great joys is helping people to make connections and find solutions, ultimately allowing them to land higher. She has worked with Higher Landing since 2016 as an Instructor and Career Transformation Strategist, Government Program Manager, and Operations and Marketing Coordinator.
"Life is what you make it" has always been Erin's guiding philosophy. Her ability to find solutions where others see problems has led to success in a variety of professions, including training, recruiting, coaching, operations management and entrepreneurship. She has always enjoyed the challenge of working to grow organizations. As a Founding Principal and President of The Quaderra Group, a boutique oil and gas professional search firm, she was heavily involved in the creation and establishment of the company, along with its ongoing management and direction.
Erin graduated with great distinction from the University of Lethbridge in 2000, with her Bachelor of Management and dual majors in Marketing and Management Information Systems. Upon graduation, she returned to her birthplace of Calgary and has lived here ever since. She enjoys anything to do with the arts, especially live theater, and is a loving wife and devoted mother to the light of her life, her daughter Lauren.
BEKAH AMES - OFFICE MANAGER
Bekah joined the Higher Landing team in early 2019.
She has held a number of administrative roles with increasing responsibility over the past 5 years, holding customer service roles prior to that. She enjoys helping others, is efficient, and organized. Bekah brings value wherever she goes by looking out for others. Quite often jokingly referred to as "Mom" , she strives to ensure people remember what they need, as well as take care of themselves. She loves brightening everyone's day with a friendly smile.
Originally from Ontario, Bekah moved out west with her family to Grande Prairie where she lived for 10 years and since 2016, she has made Calgary her home. She loves living near the mountains, reading, and travelling; and has been to Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, and Australia.
Bekah enjoys speaking Spanish, though is a bit rusty due to lack of practice. Come say hola any time!
Frankie Mears, bcr - Program administrator
Frankie obtained her degree in Community Rehabilitation from the University of Calgary, Child and Youth Care Diploma from Mount Royal College, and the Registered Managers Award from the Commission of Social Care Inspection in the UK. She is a team oriented leader who is solution focused and attentive to detail. She is positive, self-motivated and is an effective communicator who empowers her learners and inspires confidence.
Frankie has worked extensively in social services for over 15 years, holding a range of positions, including front line, management, and program development. Frankie enjoys collaborating with employees of all levels to teach new concepts in an effective manner. She works alongside teams in interpreting and implementing training and standards, ensuring that internal processes exceed expectations. She believes in providing training and professional development opportunities to support employees in implementing the goals of the programs, as well as their own professional development ambitions. Her professional interests are in crisis and risk management.
Frankie has tremendous respect for organizations looking to better their teams and services and is committed to providing the most valuable experience for her learners.
