SCFP is a career program dedicated to foreign-born professionals struggling to find work in their chosen field after moving to Canada.
Learn to navigate the challenges associated with finding work in a new country, including underemployment and finding career success without starting over. We’re here to help you thrive in your chosen field.
About the SCFP program

Learn how to market yourself effectively to Canadian employers
Build a compelling personal brand
Grow your professional network in Alberta
Stand out from other applicants
Land a career in your chosen field
Get a professional job in Calgary or abroad/remote
Leverage your skills to transition careers
Identify new job opportunities in Canada
Participants may also be eligible for short courses that help remove barriers to employment by providing targeted training or certification needed to secure or retain meaningful work. In addition, employment readiness supports are available to assist participants in becoming job-ready and successfully transitioning into the workforce. Some participants may also qualify for Workplace Training, which offers hands-on, employer-based experience to support long-term employment success.
Commitment:
Approximately 15-20 hours per week over 90 days during normal working hours (Monday - Friday)
The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.
